Er wurde 1922 in Bukarest geboren und starb 2004 in Neuilly bei Paris. Der rumänische Autor sephardischer Abstammung lebte als Ingenieur und Architekt in Frankreich, wohin er 1948 exilierte. 1947 erhielt er in Rumänien den Literaturpreis der königlichen Kulturstiftung. Sein Werk wurde erst nach der Revolution von 1989 wieder in Rumänien veröffentlicht.</div>
